Macmillan Starts Film/TV Division To Produce Book-Based Fare – Deadline.com
So, a film division of Macmillan will be a magnet for books that are specifically written to become films, or to have authors they like write books specifically written to become films, and they won’t want to adapt a particular book to film simply for love of the book, but because some Hwood dev exec thinks he can spot the winners in a crowd (of books), or indirectly induce writers to not write actual books, but proto-scripts.
